Dear Christian Moms and Grandmothers,

This is a movement to ground ourselves and our families in God’s living word by memorizing scripture in fun and easy ways, so we can all walk in the power of His life-changing word.  There is an epidemic of Christians not having His word in their hearts. This is one of the ways Satan is working in the world today. In Matthew chapter 4, Jesus is using the word to defeat Satan. But notice how Satan also uses the word, but he twists it. If we don’t know God’s word for ourselves, we won’t know when the world is twisting it. 

We don’t want to be walking around without it, and we sure do not want our children and grandchildren walking around without it.

God’s word is part of our armor, and we are walking around defenseless without it, not only us but our children and grandchildren too. The word of God is what Jesus used when the devil came to tempt Him. If This is what Jesus used to deal with Satan, how much more should we? 

Why am I so passionate about this?

I’ve seen the life-changing power of His word. Over a year ago, I started memorizing Bible verses. I had done this with my children when we homeschooled them many years ago, and we all enjoyed it. I was being drawn back to this for almost a year before I started. I kept meaning to start. I was a caregiver for my husband, and life could just get so crazy. I planned on doing it when I got a chance. This whole time I’m thinking it’s just me wanting to do this. I’m not thinking this is God drawing me. I wish I would’ve realized that it was God drawing me to this and started sooner, because things were about to get hard. 

I started in January. I lost my husband in February. Then a few weeks later the whole world is locked down in quarantine because of covid.  Then my brother died the next month. I’m mourning my husband of almost 30 years home alone with the ashes from his body while the world closes down for covid, and then my brother passes away. Not only did I not know who I was without my husband, but I was living in a world that had been turned upside down and nothing was normal, and I was alone. I wasn’t interested anything. While some were locked in with their families and starting hobbies, playing games, doing tiktoks together, I was alone and wasn’t interested in doing anything I used to love. Except memorizing Bible verses. I did that. I would sometimes miss for short period, but I would catch up. Some days I would feel okay, sad but okay. Other days I would feel so anxious. I began to notice there was a direct correlation to the days I was memorizing and the times I wasn’t.  I hadn’t even noticed that the anxiety I had been feeling for years was lifting, at least not until it would come back when I missed too many days of memorizing scripture. It was lifting because of grounding myself in His word every day and hiding it in my heart by memorizing it. It would come back if I went for much more than a few days without memorizing scripture. And about 11 months in, one more thing happened that was completely mind blowing. I’ll share more about that as He leads me to share that part of the story. 

I thought I was just memorizing Bible verses. What was going on  here? The only thing that kept coming to my mind was, “His word is ALIVE and ACTIVE.” Not a figure of speech kind of life, but they were really alive, those words on paper. I went searching God’s word for what He says about His word. Come to find out, He has a lot to say about His word. It’s the LIVING word of God. Those are not just words on paper that He wants us hiding in our hearts and abiding in us and meditating on day and night. They are alive and active and have life-changing power, power we do not have on our own. I’m not sure this had ever been explained to me, at least not in a way that I really comprehended it. So now I need to tell every Christian out there about this and help as many as I can to start hiding His word in their hearts, and I need your help with this movement. We NEED this. His church needs this. And I need you to help me. I’m just one person, one voice, but together we are many.

Think what this could do in the lives of our children and grandchildren.

Why am I reaching out to you, the Christian mothers and grandmothers?

As moms and grandmothers, this will start with us. We are the heart of a home. Others outside of our home even come to us. As I write this, I’m reminded of The War Room. It’s a movie in which a “chance” encounter with a grandmother began a movement, a movement in hearts, homes, and families. Then the movie ends with the young mother who was mentored by the grandmother now mentoring someone younger.

Get prepared. God will put them in your path. It will be us that starts this movement. 

My focus turned to moms and grandmothers, because we are often in that place with the younger generation to help and mentor them. As I was thinking on who I needed to be speaking to, a young person who’s been in my life for at least 25 years came over with some serious issues happening in his life. As we talked, the power of God’s  came up. This was an opportunity to share. Oh, how I wish I had been in the place to share this a few years ago. He might not be where he is right now. This. Is. Important. It’s urgent that we start today. We are needed. 

The reason I’m coming to you is this movement will begin with us. And it is a movement. We all need this so desperately. All Christians need this, men, women, moms, dads, sons, and daughters need this. The church needs this.

• There is life-changing power in it.
• Things change.
• You change.
• All things become new. 
• The things you’ve struggled with will be dealt with in the power of God’s word. 
• This is life-changing.

Whether you’re a mom with littles or a grandmother, we are urgently needed in this area. There is nothing greater we can do for our children than richly ground them in the word of God. And if you’re an empty nester, this is for you, too. It’s never too late. Even seeing the transformation in your life will make your adult children curious and plant a seed. Plus there may be grandchildren at some point, and there will always be people God puts on our path to help. 

Note. This begins in our hearts. We start. If you have children, include them now. If you have grandchildren, include them now. If it’s just you, START NOW. The more of his word you hide in your heart, the more you will understand for yourself how important it is. It begins with us memorizing His word. It was about nine months in that I started to notice things. At the year mark, I put it all together what was happening. I’m 57 years old. You could’ve knocked me over with a feather. All I could say was, “Wow. His word is ALIVE and ACTIVE. It does not come back void.” And I don’t mean this in the way that it’s used like a genie in a bottle. I mean it in a way that it is working His purpose. We don’t control it. It controls us. We become an even more usable vessel when that word is alive and active and working in our lives for his glory. 

It’s for everyone of all ages and every level of Bible knowledge.
